There is nothing like trust and intimacy between a husband and wife. A couple who have a close, intimate relationship are honest and transparent with one another. They are exceedingly fond of one another. They overlook the minor faults in one another. They are respectful and loving when they are in disagreement.
This is the state that God has in mind for us when He says we are to become "one flesh!" He is not only the Creator of us individually, but the Creator of marriage as well. He has given us His expectations in His Word. He desires for us to give unselfishly to one another.
Take a look at God's definition of love:
"
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."
Is this characteristic of the love that you have with your husband? If not, ask God to show you how that you can have this kind of relationship.
